What It Does
Tomorrow.io aggregates weather observations from satellites, radar, and other sensing networks into forecasting models, then delivers the resulting data as operational intelligence. Customers consume real-time conditions, forecasts up to 14 days ahead, and historical weather records going back roughly two decades via its Weather API and web platform.[1]

The company began by deriving precipitation estimates from signal attenuation on wireless cellular networks and IoT sensors, an approach it used before entering the space segment.[2]
Tomorrow.io launched its first commercial weather radar satellites, Tomorrow-R1 and Tomorrow-R2, carrying Ka-band software-defined radar payloads, in April and June 2023, followed in August 2024 by passive microwave sounder CubeSats. History
ClimaCell was founded in 2016 by Shimon Elkabetz, Itai Zlotnik, and Rei Goffer. It rebranded as Tomorrow.io in March 2021 concurrent with a $77 million Series D round.[2]
A planned SPAC merger with Pine Technology Acquisition Corp. announced in late 2021 was mutually terminated in March 2022. The company raised an $87 million Series E in June 2023 to complete its first constellation, and in February 2026 raised $175 million led by Stonecourt Capital and HarbourVest Partners, reaching unicorn status with total funding of approximately $508 million and reported annual recurring revenue near $100 million.[2][3]
In March 2025, Tomorrow.io announced a technical collaboration with NVIDIA centered on the Earth-2 platform, contributing near-real-time satellite data to AI weather model development.[2]
