HealthVerity
From AltData.wiki, The Alternative Data Encyclopedia
HealthVerity is an American healthcare data and technology company that operates what it describes as the nation's largest real-world data ecosystem, linking de-identified pharmacy and medical claims, laboratory results, electronic health records, and clinical notes through privacy-preserving identity resolution.[1] The company serves life sciences firms, insurers, government agencies, media agencies, and channel partners from its base in the Philadelphia area.[1][4]
Its platform products include the HealthVerity Marketplace data ecosystem, the taXonomy claims datasets, Identity Manager de-identification technology, and the AI-native eXOs evidence-generation environment.[5] In May 2026 the company completed its acquisition of Symphony Health, uniting clinical data with commercial analytics in a single ecosystem.[2]
What It Does
HealthVerity assembles de-identified patient-level healthcare data contributed by a network of data suppliers, resolves records across sources to a persistent identity, and makes the resulting linked datasets available for research, commercial analytics, and audience activation. The company describes its approach as IPGE — identity, privacy, governance, and enforcement — as the foundation for compliant data exchange.[1]
Following the Symphony Health acquisition, the combined ecosystem connects pharmacy claims, medical claims, laboratory data, and EHR information, including clinical notes, positioning itself as a single source of United States healthcare data for research and commercial use.[1][2]
Data and Methodology
The company's underlying infrastructure is built around HIPAA-compliant identity resolution that links patient records across datasets while preserving privacy. HealthVerity has been issued a United States patent for privacy-preserving analysis based on secure multi-party computing, and its cloud platform holds FedRAMP authorization for government workloads.[1][3]
Curated condition-specific datasets, marketed as Mastersets such as the Mortality Masterset and Maternal Outcomes Masterset, synchronize variables relevant to specific research questions. The taXonomy family provides closed and open medical and prescription claims datasets designed for pharmaceutical research, and taXonomy Pathways adds therapeutic-area-specific combinations of claims, labs, and EHR data including physician notes.[1]
Products
HealthVerity Marketplace is the company's data discovery and licensing ecosystem, aggregating feeds from partners such as Premier, OneMedNet, Verana Health, and Arcadia alongside first-party assets; the company reported in September 2025 that studies built on Marketplace data had produced one hundred peer-reviewed publications.[1]
Technology products include Identity Manager, a standalone de-identification-as-a-service offering for data providers; Clinical Trial Linkage for connecting trial participants to real-world data; Patient Mastering for Commercial; Registries Support; and Smart Contracts for governing data transactions.[1]
The eXOs product, introduced in September 2025 through a partnership with Medeloop, applies agentic AI to generate real-world evidence from the ecosystem for emerging biopharma companies.[1][5] Additional offerings include Precision Event Alerts for real-time physician outreach, HealthVerity Audiences for deterministic privacy-compliant campaign targeting, Media Measurement, Insurance Underwriting datasets, and the Symphony Health line of products, including the Integrated Dataverse and Source solutions for patient journey, market access, and brand analytics.[1][2]
Delivery and Pricing
Data and applications are delivered through cloud-based subscriptions, project-based dataset licenses, and marketplace transactions governed by automated contracts. The platform supports both hosted analysis environments and delivery of linked datasets into client systems.[1]
Pricing is not published publicly; costs vary by data type, patient counts, linkage requirements, and license duration. Government customers access the platform under FedRAMP-authorized arrangements.[1][3]
Buyers and Use Cases
Primary buyers are life sciences organizations using real-world data for evidence generation, clinical trial feasibility and augmentation, market access, and commercial targeting; the company states that most of the top United States pharmaceutical and biotech companies are among its customers.[1]
Insurers use connected claims data for risk adjustment and member insights, government clients use it for program oversight and public health surveillance — including work supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's COVID-19 response and evaluation for the Food and Drug Administration's Sentinel Initiative — and agencies and media buyers use deterministic audiences for healthcare campaigns.[1][3]
History
HealthVerity launched its IPGE Platform in May 2021 to transform real-world data discovery and exchange for pharmaceutical, payer, and government customers,[3] and raised a US$100 million Series D round the following month to scale the platform and its data infrastructure.[4] During the COVID-19 pandemic the company received a CDC contract to provide real-world data for response efforts and was later evaluated as a data partner for the FDA's Sentinel Initiative.[1]
The company achieved FedRAMP authorization in October 2022[1] and subsequently expanded its product line with Audience Manager, FLOW, Mastersets, taXonomy closed and open claims datasets, Notes with verified clinical narratives, and the Medeloop-powered eXOs offering.[1]
On May 5, 2026, HealthVerity announced an agreement to acquire Symphony Health, and completed the acquisition days later, combining clinical data with commercial analytics; subsequent partnerships added clinically grounded data from Arcadia and a collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific's PPD clinical research business to expand real-world data capabilities.[2]
